Κρήσσαι νύ ποτ᾽ ὦδ᾽ ἐμμελέωσ πόδεσσιν
ὠρχεῦντ᾽ ἀπάλοισ ἀμφ᾽ επόεντα Βῶμον
πόασ τέπεν ἄνθοσ μάλακον μάτεισαι. [transcription]

Thus sometimes, the Cretan women, tender footed, dance in measure round the fair altar, crushing the fine bloom of the grass.
