1  And the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ spoke¹⁶⁹⁶ unto⁴¹³ Moses,⁴⁸⁷² saying,⁵⁵⁹

2  Avenge^{5358 5360} the children¹¹²¹ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ of^{4480 854} the Midianites:⁴⁰⁸⁴ afterward³¹⁰ shalt thou be gathered⁶²² unto⁴¹³ thy people.⁵⁹⁷¹

3  And Moses⁴⁸⁷² spoke¹⁶⁹⁶ unto⁴¹³ the people,⁵⁹⁷¹ saying,⁵⁵⁹ Arm²⁵⁰² some³⁷⁶ of yourselves^{4480 854} unto the war,⁶⁶³⁵ and let them go¹⁹⁶¹ against⁵⁹²¹ the Midianites,⁴⁰⁸⁰ and avenge^{5414 5360} the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ of Midian.⁴⁰⁸⁰

4  Of every tribe a thousand,^{4294 505 4294 505} throughout all³⁶⁰⁵ the tribes⁴²⁹⁴ of Israel,³⁴⁷⁸ shall ye send⁷⁹⁷¹ to the war.⁶⁶³⁵

5  So there were delivered⁴⁵⁶⁰ out of the thousands^{4480 505} of Israel,³⁴⁷⁸ a thousand⁵⁰⁵ of every tribe,⁴²⁹⁴ twelve^{8147 6240} thousand⁵⁰⁵ armed²⁵⁰² for war.⁶⁶³⁵

6  And Moses⁴⁸⁷² sent⁷⁹⁷¹ them to the war,⁶⁶³⁵ a thousand⁵⁰⁵ of every tribe⁴²⁹⁴ them, and Phinehas⁶³⁷² the son¹¹²¹ of Eleazar⁴⁹⁹ the priest,³⁵⁴⁸ to the war,⁶⁶³⁵ with the holy⁶⁹⁴⁴ instruments,³⁶²⁷ and the trumpets²⁶⁸⁹ to blow⁸⁶⁴³ in his hand.³⁰²⁷

7  And they warred⁶⁶³³ against⁵⁹²¹ the Midianites,⁴⁰⁸⁰ as⁸³⁴ the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ commanded^{6680 853} Moses;⁴⁸⁷² and they slew²⁰²⁶ all³⁶⁰⁵ the males.²¹⁴⁵

8  And they slew²⁰²⁶ the kings⁴⁴²⁸ of Midian,⁴⁰⁸⁰ beside⁵⁹²¹ the rest of them that were slain;²⁴⁹¹ namely, ⁸⁵³ Evi,¹⁸⁹ and Rekem,⁷⁵⁵² and Zur,⁶⁶⁹⁸ and Hur,²³⁵⁴ and Reba,⁷²⁵⁴ five²⁵⁶⁸ kings⁴⁴²⁸ of Midian:⁴⁰⁸⁰ Balaam¹¹⁰⁹ also the son¹¹²¹ of Beor¹¹⁶⁰ they slew²⁰²⁶ with the sword.²⁷¹⁹

9  And the children¹¹²¹ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ took all ⁸⁵³ the women⁸⁰² of Midian⁴⁰⁸⁰ captives,⁷⁶¹⁷ and their little ones,²⁹⁴⁵ and took the spoil⁹⁶² of all³⁶⁰⁵ their cattle,⁹²⁹ and all³⁶⁰⁵ their flocks,⁴⁷³⁵ and all³⁶⁰⁵ their goods.²⁴²⁸

10  And they burnt⁸³¹³ all³⁶⁰⁵ their cities⁵⁸⁹² wherein they dwelt,⁴¹⁸⁶ and all³⁶⁰⁵ their goodly castles,²⁹¹⁸ with fire.⁷⁸⁴

11  And they took^{3947 853} all³⁶⁰⁵ the spoil,⁷⁹⁹⁸ and all³⁶⁰⁵ the prey,⁴⁴⁵⁵ both of men¹²⁰ and of beasts.⁹²⁹

12  And they brought^{935 853} the captives,⁷⁶²⁸ and the prey,⁴⁴⁵⁵ and the spoil,⁷⁹⁹⁸ unto⁴¹³ Moses,⁴⁸⁷² and Eleazar⁴⁹⁹ the priest,³⁵⁴⁸ and unto⁴¹³ the congregation⁵⁷¹² of the children¹¹²¹ of Israel,³⁴⁷⁸ unto⁴¹³ the camp⁴²⁶⁴ at⁴¹³ the plains⁶¹⁶⁰ of Moab,⁴¹²⁴ which⁸³⁴ are by⁵⁹²¹ Jordan³³⁸³ near Jericho.³⁴⁰⁵

13  And Moses,⁴⁸⁷² and Eleazar⁴⁹⁹ the priest,³⁵⁴⁸ and all³⁶⁰⁵ the princes⁵³⁸⁷ of the congregation,⁵⁷¹² went forth³³¹⁸ to meet⁷¹²⁵ them without^{413 4480 2351} the camp.⁴²⁶⁴

14  And Moses⁴⁸⁷² was wroth⁷¹⁰⁷ with⁵⁹²¹ the officers⁶⁴⁸⁵ of the host,²⁴²⁸ with the captains⁸²⁶⁹ over thousands,⁵⁰⁵ and captains⁸²⁶⁹ over hundreds,³⁹⁶⁷ which came⁹³⁵ from the battle.^{4480 6635 4421}

15  And Moses⁴⁸⁷² said⁵⁵⁹ unto⁴¹³ them, Have ye saved all the women alive?^{2421 3605 5347}

16  Behold,²⁰⁰⁵ these²⁰⁰⁷ caused¹⁹⁶¹ the children¹¹²¹ of Israel,³⁴⁷⁸ through the counsel¹⁶⁹⁷ of Balaam,¹¹⁰⁹ to commit⁴⁵⁶⁰ trespass⁴⁶⁰⁴ against the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ in⁵⁹²¹ the matter¹⁶⁹⁷ of Peor,⁶⁴⁶⁵ and there was¹⁹⁶¹ a plague⁴⁰⁴⁶ among the congregation⁵⁷¹² of the LORD.³⁰⁶⁸

17  Now⁶²⁵⁸ therefore kill²⁰²⁶ every³⁶⁰⁵ male²¹⁴⁵ among the little ones,²⁹⁴⁵ and kill²⁰²⁶ every³⁶⁰⁵ woman⁸⁰² that hath known³⁰⁴⁵ man³⁷⁶ by lying⁴⁹⁰⁴ with him.²¹⁴⁵

18  But all³⁶⁰⁵ the women⁸⁰² children,²⁹⁴⁵ that⁸³⁴ have not³⁸⁰⁸ known³⁰⁴⁵ a man²¹⁴⁵ by lying⁴⁹⁰⁴ with him, keep alive²⁴²¹ for yourselves.

19  And do ye⁸⁵⁹ abide²⁵⁸³ without^{4480 2351} the camp⁴²⁶⁴ seven⁷⁶⁵¹ days:³¹¹⁷ whosoever³⁶⁰⁵ hath killed²⁰²⁶ any person,⁵³¹⁵ and whosoever³⁶⁰⁵ hath touched⁵⁰⁶⁰ any slain,²⁴⁹¹ purify²³⁹⁸ both yourselves⁸⁵⁹ and your captives⁷⁶²⁸ on the third⁷⁹⁹² day,³¹¹⁷ and on the seventh⁷⁶³⁷ day.³¹¹⁷

20  And purify²³⁹⁸ all³⁶⁰⁵ your raiment,⁸⁹⁹ and all³⁶⁰⁵ that is made³⁶²⁷ of skins,⁵⁷⁸⁵ and all³⁶⁰⁵ work⁴⁶³⁹ of goats' ⁵⁷⁹⁵ hair, and all³⁶⁰⁵ things³⁶²⁷ made of wood.⁶⁰⁸⁶

21  And Eleazar⁴⁹⁹ the priest³⁵⁴⁸ said⁵⁵⁹ unto⁴¹³ the men³⁷⁶ of war⁶⁶³⁵ which went⁹³⁵ to the battle,⁴⁴²¹ This²⁰⁶³ is the ordinance²⁷⁰⁸ of the law⁸⁴⁵¹ which⁸³⁴ the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ commanded^{6680 853} Moses;⁴⁸⁷²

22  Only^{389 853} the gold,²⁰⁹¹ and the silver,^{3701 853} the brass,^{5178 853} the iron,^{1270 853} the tin,⁹¹³ and the lead,⁵⁷⁷⁷

23  Every³⁶⁰⁵ thing¹⁶⁹⁷ that⁸³⁴ may abide⁹³⁵ the fire,⁷⁸⁴ ye shall make it go⁵⁶⁷⁴ through the fire,⁷⁸⁴ and it shall be clean:²⁸⁹¹ nevertheless³⁸⁹ it shall be purified²³⁹⁸ with the water⁴³²⁵ of separation:⁵⁰⁷⁹ and all³⁶⁰⁵ that⁸³⁴ abideth⁹³⁵ not³⁸⁰⁸ the fire⁷⁸⁴ ye shall make go⁵⁶⁷⁴ through the water.⁴³²⁵

24  And ye shall wash³⁵²⁶ your clothes⁸⁹⁹ on the seventh⁷⁶³⁷ day,³¹¹⁷ and ye shall be clean,²⁸⁹¹ and afterward³¹⁰ ye shall come⁹³⁵ into⁴¹³ the camp.⁴²⁶⁴

25  And the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ spoke⁵⁵⁹ unto⁴¹³ Moses,⁴⁸⁷² saying,⁵⁵⁹

26  Take^{5375 853} the sum⁷²¹⁸ of the prey⁴⁴⁵⁵ that was taken,⁷⁶²⁸ both of man¹²⁰ and of beast,⁹²⁹ thou,⁸⁵⁹ and Eleazar⁴⁹⁹ the priest,³⁵⁴⁸ and the chief⁷²¹⁸ fathers¹ of the congregation:⁵⁷¹²

27  And divide^{2673 853} the prey⁴⁴⁵⁵ into two parts; between⁹⁹⁶ them that took⁸⁶¹⁰ the war⁴⁴²¹ upon them, who went out³³¹⁸ to battle,⁶⁶³⁵ and between⁹⁹⁶ all³⁶⁰⁵ the congregation:⁵⁷¹²

28  And levy⁷³¹¹ a tribute⁴³⁷¹ unto the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ of^{4480 854} the men³⁷⁶ of war⁴⁴²¹ which went out³³¹⁸ to battle:⁶⁶³⁵ one²⁵⁹ soul⁵³¹⁵ of five^{4480 2568} hundred,³⁹⁶⁷ both of⁴⁴⁸⁰ the persons,¹²⁰ and of⁴⁴⁸⁰ the beefs,¹²⁴¹ and of⁴⁴⁸⁰ the asses,²⁵⁴³ and of⁴⁴⁸⁰ the sheep:⁶⁶²⁹

29  Take³⁹⁴⁷ it of their half,^{4480 4276} and give⁵⁴¹⁴ it unto Eleazar⁴⁹⁹ the priest,³⁵⁴⁸ for a heave offering⁸⁶⁴¹ of the LORD.³⁰⁶⁸

30  And of the children¹¹²¹ of Israel's³⁴⁷⁸ half,^{4480 4276} thou shalt take³⁹⁴⁷ one²⁵⁹ portion²⁷⁰ of⁴⁴⁸⁰ fifty,²⁵⁷² of⁴⁴⁸⁰ the persons,¹²⁰ of⁴⁴⁸⁰ the beefs,¹²⁴¹ of⁴⁴⁸⁰ the asses,²⁵⁴³ and of⁴⁴⁸⁰ the flocks,⁶⁶²⁹ of all manner^{4480 3605} of beasts,⁹²⁹ and give⁵⁴¹⁴ them unto the Levites,³⁸⁸¹ which keep⁸¹⁰⁴ the charge⁴⁹³¹ of the tabernacle⁴⁹⁰⁸ of the LORD.³⁰⁶⁸

31  And Moses⁴⁸⁷² and Eleazar⁴⁹⁹ the priest³⁵⁴⁸ did⁶²¹³ as⁸³⁴ the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ commanded^{6680 853} Moses.⁴⁸⁷²

32  And the booty,⁴⁴⁵⁵ being the rest³⁴⁹⁹ of the prey⁹⁵⁷ which⁸³⁴ the men⁵⁹⁷¹ of war⁶⁶³⁵ had caught,⁹⁶² was¹⁹⁶¹ six⁸³³⁷ hundred³⁹⁶⁷ thousand⁵⁰⁵ and seventy⁷⁶⁵⁷ thousand⁵⁰⁵ and five²⁵⁶⁸ thousand⁵⁰⁵ sheep,⁶⁶²⁹

33  And threescore and twelve^{8147 7657} thousand⁵⁰⁵ beefs,¹²⁴¹

34  And threescore⁸³⁴⁶ and one²⁵⁹ thousand⁵⁰⁵ asses,²⁵⁴³

35  And thirty⁷⁹⁷⁰ and two⁸¹⁴⁷ thousand⁵⁰⁵ persons^{5315 120} in all,^{3605 5315} of⁴⁴⁸⁰ women⁸⁰² that⁸³⁴ had not³⁸⁰⁸ known³⁰⁴⁵ man by lying with⁴⁹⁰⁴ him.²¹⁴⁵

36  And the half,⁴²⁷⁵ which was the portion²⁵⁰⁶ of them that went out³³¹⁸ to war,⁶⁶³⁵ was¹⁹⁶¹ in number⁴⁵⁵⁷ three⁷⁹⁶⁹ hundred³⁹⁶⁷ thousand⁵⁰⁵ and seven⁷⁶⁵¹ and thirty⁷⁹⁷⁰ thousand⁵⁰⁵ and five²⁵⁶⁸ hundred³⁹⁶⁷ sheep:⁶⁶²⁹

37  And the LORD's³⁰⁶⁸ tribute⁴³⁷¹ of⁴⁴⁸⁰ the sheep⁶⁶²⁹ was¹⁹⁶¹ six⁸³³⁷ hundred³⁹⁶⁷ and threescore and fifteen.^{2568 7657}

38  And the beefs¹²⁴¹ were thirty⁷⁹⁷⁰ and six⁸³³⁷ thousand;⁵⁰⁵ of which the LORD's³⁰⁶⁸ tribute⁴³⁷¹ was threescore and twelve.^{8147 7657}

39  And the asses²⁵⁴³ were thirty⁷⁹⁷⁰ thousand⁵⁰⁵ and five²⁵⁶⁸ hundred;³⁹⁶⁷ of which the LORD's³⁰⁶⁸ tribute⁴³⁷¹ was threescore⁸³⁴⁶ and one.²⁵⁹

40  And the persons^{5315 120} were sixteen^{8337 6240} thousand;⁵⁰⁵ of which the LORD's³⁰⁶⁸ tribute⁴³⁷¹ was thirty⁷⁹⁷⁰ and two⁸¹⁴⁷ persons.⁵³¹⁵

41  And Moses⁴⁸⁷² gave^{5414 853} the tribute,⁴³⁷¹ which was the LORD's³⁰⁶⁸ heave offering,⁸⁶⁴¹ unto Eleazar⁴⁹⁹ the priest,³⁵⁴⁸ as⁸³⁴ the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ commanded^{6680 853} Moses.⁴⁸⁷²

42  And of the children¹¹²¹ of Israel's³⁴⁷⁸ half,^{4480 4276} which⁸³⁴ Moses⁴⁸⁷² divided²⁶⁷³ from⁴⁴⁸⁰ the men³⁷⁶ that warred,⁶⁶³³

43  (Now the half⁴²⁷⁵ that pertained unto the congregation⁵⁷¹² was¹⁹⁶¹ three⁷⁹⁶⁹ hundred³⁹⁶⁷ thousand⁵⁰⁵ and thirty⁷⁹⁷⁰ thousand⁵⁰⁵ and seven⁷⁶⁵¹ thousand⁵⁰⁵ and five²⁵⁶⁸ hundred³⁹⁶⁷ sheep,⁶⁶²⁹

44  And thirty⁷⁹⁷⁰ and six⁸³³⁷ thousand⁵⁰⁵ beefs,¹²⁴¹

45  And thirty⁷⁹⁷⁰ thousand⁵⁰⁵ asses²⁵⁴³ and five²⁵⁶⁸ hundred,³⁹⁶⁷

46  And sixteen^{8337 6240} thousand⁵⁰⁵ persons;)^{5315 120}

47  Even of the children¹¹²¹ of Israel's³⁴⁷⁸ half,^{4480 4276} Moses⁴⁸⁷² took³⁹⁴⁷ one^{259 853} portion²⁷⁰ of⁴⁴⁸⁰ fifty,²⁵⁷² both of⁴⁴⁸⁰ man¹²⁰ and of⁴⁴⁸⁰ beast,⁹²⁹ and gave⁵⁴¹⁴ them unto the Levites,³⁸⁸¹ which kept⁸¹⁰⁴ the charge⁴⁹³¹ of the tabernacle⁴⁹⁰⁸ of the LORD;³⁰⁶⁸ as⁸³⁴ the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ commanded^{6680 853} Moses.⁴⁸⁷²

48  And the officers⁶⁴⁸⁵ which⁸³⁴ were over thousands⁵⁰⁵ of the host,⁶⁶³⁵ the captains⁸²⁶⁹ of thousands,⁵⁰⁵ and captains⁸²⁶⁹ of hundreds,³⁹⁶⁷ came near⁷¹²⁶ unto⁴¹³ Moses:⁴⁸⁷²

49  And they said⁵⁵⁹ unto⁴¹³ Moses,⁴⁸⁷² Thy servants⁵⁶⁵⁰ have taken^{5375 853} the sum⁷²¹⁸ of the men³⁷⁶ of war⁴⁴²¹ which⁸³⁴ are under our charge,³⁰²⁷ and there lacketh⁶⁴⁸⁵ not³⁸⁰⁸ one man³⁷⁶ of⁴⁴⁸⁰ us.

50  We have therefore brought^{7126 853} an oblation⁷¹³³ for the LORD,³⁰⁶⁸ what⁸³⁴ every man³⁷⁶ hath gotten,⁴⁶⁷² of jewels³⁶²⁷ of gold,²⁰⁹¹ chains,⁶⁸⁵ and bracelets,⁶⁷⁸¹ rings,²⁸⁸⁵ earrings,⁵⁶⁹⁴ and tablets,³⁵⁵⁸ to make an atonement³⁷²² for⁵⁹²¹ our souls⁵³¹⁵ before⁶⁴⁴⁰ the LORD.³⁰⁶⁸

51  And Moses⁴⁸⁷² and Eleazar⁴⁹⁹ the priest³⁵⁴⁸ took^{3947 853} the gold²⁰⁹¹ of^{4480 854} them, even all³⁶⁰⁵ wrought⁴⁶³⁹ jewels.³⁶²⁷

52  And all³⁶⁰⁵ the gold²⁰⁹¹ of the offering⁸⁶⁴¹ that⁸³⁴ they offered up⁷³¹¹ to the LORD,³⁰⁶⁸ of^{4480 854} the captains⁸²⁶⁹ of thousands,⁵⁰⁵ and of^{4480 854} the captains⁸²⁶⁹ of hundreds,³⁹⁶⁷ was¹⁹⁶¹ sixteen^{8337 6240} thousand⁵⁰⁵ seven⁷⁶⁵¹ hundred³⁹⁶⁷ and fifty²⁵⁷² shekels.⁸²⁵⁵

53  (For the men³⁷⁶ of war⁶⁶³⁵ had taken spoil,⁹⁶² every man³⁷⁶ for himself.)

54  And Moses⁴⁸⁷² and Eleazar⁴⁹⁹ the priest³⁵⁴⁸ took^{3947 853} the gold²⁰⁹¹ of^{4480 854} the captains⁸²⁶⁹ of thousands⁵⁰⁵ and of hundreds,³⁹⁶⁷ and brought⁹³⁵ it into⁴¹³ the tabernacle¹⁶⁸ of the congregation,⁴¹⁵⁰ for a memorial²¹⁴⁶ for the children¹¹²¹ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ before⁶⁴⁴⁰ the LORD.³⁰⁶⁸

1 καὶ ἐλάλησεν κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν λέγων

2 ἐκδίκει τὴν ἐκδίκησιν υἱῶν Ισραηλ ἐκ τῶν Μαδιανιτῶν καὶ ἔσχατον προστεθήσῃ πρὸς τὸν λαόν σου

3 καὶ ἐλάλησεν Μωυσῆς πρὸς τὸν λαὸν λέγων ἐξοπλίσατε ἐξ ὑμῶν ἄνδρας παρατάξασθαι ἔναντι κυρίου ἐπὶ Μαδιαν ἀποδοῦναι ἐκδίκησιν παρὰ τοῦ κυρίου τῇ Μαδιαν

4 χιλίους ἐκ φυλῆς χιλίους ἐκ φυλῆς ἐκ πασῶν φυλῶν Ισραηλ ἀποστείλατε παρατάξασθαι

5 καὶ ἐξηρίθμησαν ἐκ τῶν χιλιάδων Ισραηλ χιλίους ἐκ φυλῆς δώδεκα χιλιάδες ἐνωπλισμένοι εἰς παράταξιν

6 καὶ ἀπέστειλεν αὐτοὺς Μωυσῆς χιλίους ἐκ φυλῆς χιλίους ἐκ φυλῆς σὺν δυνάμει αὐτῶν καὶ Φινεες υἱὸν Ελεαζαρ υἱοῦ Ααρων τοῦ ἱερέως καὶ τὰ σκεύη τὰ ἅγια καὶ αἱ σάλπιγγες τῶν σημασιῶν ἐν ταῖς χερσὶν αὐτῶν

7 καὶ παρετάξαντο ἐπὶ Μαδιαν καθὰ ἐνετείλατο κύριος τῷ Μωυσῇ καὶ ἀπέκτειναν πᾶν ἀρσενικόν

8 καὶ τοὺς βασιλεῖς Μαδιαν ἀπέκτειναν ἅμα τοῖς τραυματίαις αὐτῶν καὶ τὸν Ευιν καὶ τὸν Σουρ καὶ τὸν Ροκομ καὶ τὸν Ουρ καὶ τὸν Ροβοκ πέντε βασιλεῖς Μαδιαν καὶ τὸν Βαλααμ υἱὸν Βεωρ ἀπέκτειναν ἐν ῥομφαίᾳ σὺν τοῖς τραυματίαις αὐτῶν

9 καὶ ἐπρονόμευσαν τὰς γυναῖκας Μαδιαν καὶ τὴν ἀποσκευὴν αὐτῶν καὶ τὰ κτήνη αὐτῶν καὶ πάντα τὰ ἔγκτητα αὐτῶν καὶ τὴν δύναμιν αὐτῶν ἐπρονόμευσαν

10 καὶ πάσας τὰς πόλεις αὐτῶν τὰς ἐν ταῖς οἰκίαις αὐτῶν καὶ τὰς ἐπαύλεις αὐτῶν ἐνέπρησαν ἐν πυρί

11 καὶ ἔλαβον πᾶσαν τὴν προνομὴν καὶ πάντα τὰ σκῦλα αὐτῶν ἀπὸ ἀνθρώπου ἕως κτήνους

12 καὶ ἤγαγον πρὸς Μωυσῆν καὶ πρὸς Ελεαζαρ τὸν ἱερέα καὶ πρὸς πάντας υἱοὺς Ισραηλ τὴν αἰχμαλωσίαν καὶ τὰ σκῦλα καὶ τὴν προνομὴν εἰς τὴν παρεμβολὴν εἰς Αραβωθ Μωαβ ἥ ἐστιν ἐπὶ τοῦ Ιορδάνου κατὰ Ιεριχω

13 καὶ ἐξῆλθεν Μωυσῆς καὶ Ελεαζαρ ὁ ἱερεὺς καὶ πάντες οἱ ἄρχοντες τῆς συναγωγῆς εἰς συνάντησιν αὐτοῖς ἔξω τῆς παρεμβολῆς

14 καὶ ὠργίσθη Μωυσῆς ἐπὶ τοῖς ἐπισκόποις τῆς δυνάμεως χιλιάρχοις καὶ ἑκατοντάρχοις τοῖς ἐρχομένοις ἐκ τῆς παρατάξεως τοῦ πολέμου

15 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Μωυσῆς ἵνα τί ἐζωγρήσατε πᾶν θῆλυ

16 αὗται γὰρ ἦσαν τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ κατὰ τὸ ῥῆμα Βαλααμ τοῦ ἀποστῆσαι καὶ ὑπεριδεῖν τὸ ῥῆμα κυρίου ἕνεκεν Φογωρ καὶ ἐγένετο ἡ πληγὴ ἐν τῇ συναγωγῇ κυρίου

17 καὶ νῦν ἀποκτείνατε πᾶν ἀρσενικὸν ἐν πάσῃ τῇ ἀπαρτίᾳ καὶ πᾶσαν γυναῖκα ἥτις ἔγνωκεν κοίτην ἄρσενος ἀποκτείνατε

18 πᾶσαν τὴν ἀπαρτίαν τῶν γυναικῶν ἥτις οὐκ οἶδεν κοίτην ἄρσενος ζωγρήσατε αὐτάς

19 καὶ ὑμεῖς παρεμβάλετε ἔξω τῆς παρεμβολῆς ἑπτὰ ἡμέρας πᾶς ὁ ἀνελὼν καὶ ὁ ἁπτόμενος τοῦ τετρωμένου ἁγνισθήσεται τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ τρίτῃ καὶ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ ἑβδόμῃ ὑμεῖς καὶ ἡ αἰχμαλωσία ὑμῶν

20 καὶ πᾶν περίβλημα καὶ πᾶν σκεῦος δερμάτινον καὶ πᾶσαν ἐργασίαν ἐξ αἰγείας καὶ πᾶν σκεῦος ξύλινον ἀφαγνιεῖτε

21 καὶ εἶπεν Ελεαζαρ ὁ ἱερεὺς πρὸς τοὺς ἄνδρας τῆς δυνάμεως τοὺς ἐρχομένους ἐκ τῆς παρατάξεως τοῦ πολέμου τοῦτο τὸ δικαίωμα τοῦ νόμου ὃ συνέταξεν κύριος τῷ Μωυσῇ

22 πλὴν τοῦ χρυσίου καὶ τοῦ ἀργυρίου καὶ χαλκοῦ καὶ σιδήρου καὶ μολίβου καὶ κασσιτέρου

23 πᾶν πρᾶγμα ὃ διελεύσεται ἐν πυρί καὶ καθαρισθήσεται ἀλλ᾽ ἢ τῷ ὕδατι τοῦ ἁγνισμοῦ ἁγνισθήσεται καὶ πάντα ὅσα ἐὰν μὴ διαπορεύηται διὰ πυρός διελεύσεται δι᾽ ὕδατος

24 καὶ πλυνεῖσθε τὰ ἱμάτια τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ ἑβδόμῃ καὶ καθαρισθήσεσθε καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα εἰσελεύσεσθε εἰς τὴν παρεμβολήν

25 καὶ ἐλάλησεν κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν λέγων

26 λαβὲ τὸ κεφάλαιον τῶν σκύλων τῆς αἰχμαλωσίας ἀπὸ ἀνθρώπου ἕως κτήνους σὺ καὶ Ελεαζαρ ὁ ἱερεὺς καὶ οἱ ἄρχοντες τῶν πατριῶν τῆς συναγωγῆς

27 καὶ διελεῖτε τὰ σκῦλα ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν πολεμιστῶν τῶν ἐκπορευομένων εἰς τὴν παράταξιν καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον πάσης συναγωγῆς

28 καὶ ἀφελεῖτε τέλος κυρίῳ παρὰ τῶν ἀνθρώπων τῶν πολεμιστῶν τῶν ἐκπεπορευμένων εἰς τὴν παράταξιν μίαν ψυχὴν ἀπὸ πεντακοσίων ἀπὸ τῶν ἀνθρώπων καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν κτηνῶν καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν βοῶν καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν προβάτων καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν αἰγῶν

29 καὶ ἀπὸ τοῦ ἡμίσους αὐτῶν λήμψεσθε καὶ δώσεις Ελεαζαρ τῷ ἱερεῖ τὰς ἀπαρχὰς κυρίου

30 καὶ ἀπὸ τοῦ ἡμίσους τοῦ τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ λήμψῃ ἕνα ἀπὸ τῶν πεντήκοντα ἀπὸ τῶν ἀνθρώπων καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν βοῶν καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν προβάτων καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν ὄνων καὶ ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν κτηνῶν καὶ δώσεις αὐτὰ τοῖς Λευίταις τοῖς φυλάσσουσιν τὰς φυλακὰς ἐν τῇ σκηνῇ κυρίου

31 καὶ ἐποίησεν Μωυσῆς καὶ Ελεαζαρ ὁ ἱερεὺς καθὰ συνέταξεν κύριος τῷ Μωυσῇ

32 καὶ ἐγενήθη τὸ πλεόνασμα τῆς προνομῆς ὃ ἐπρονόμευσαν οἱ ἄνδρες οἱ πολεμισταί ἀπὸ τῶν προβάτων ἑξακόσιαι χιλιάδες καὶ ἑβδομήκοντα καὶ πέντε χιλιάδες

33 καὶ βόες δύο καὶ ἑβδομήκοντα χιλιάδες

34 καὶ ὄνοι μία καὶ ἑξήκοντα χιλιάδες

35 καὶ ψυχαὶ ἀνθρώπων ἀπὸ τῶν γυναικῶν αἳ οὐκ ἔγνωσαν κοίτην ἀνδρός πᾶσαι ψυχαὶ δύο καὶ τριάκοντα χιλιάδες

36 καὶ ἐγενήθη τὸ ἡμίσευμα ἡ μερὶς τῶν ἐκπεπορευμένων εἰς τὸν πόλεμον ἐκ τοῦ ἀριθμοῦ τῶν προβάτων τριακόσιαι καὶ τριάκοντα χιλιάδες καὶ ἑπτακισχίλια καὶ πεντακόσια

37 καὶ ἐγένετο τὸ τέλος κυρίῳ ἀπὸ τῶν προβάτων ἑξακόσια ἑβδομήκοντα πέντε

38 καὶ βόες ἓξ καὶ τριάκοντα χιλιάδες καὶ τὸ τέλος κυρίῳ δύο καὶ ἑβδομήκοντα

39 καὶ ὄνοι τριάκοντα χιλιάδες καὶ πεντακόσιοι καὶ τὸ τέλος κυρίῳ εἷς καὶ ἑξήκοντα

40 καὶ ψυχαὶ ἀνθρώπων ἑκκαίδεκα χιλιάδες καὶ τὸ τέλος αὐτῶν κυρίῳ δύο καὶ τριάκοντα ψυχαί

41 καὶ ἔδωκεν Μωυσῆς τὸ τέλος κυρίῳ τὸ ἀφαίρεμα τοῦ θεοῦ Ελεαζαρ τῷ ἱερεῖ καθὰ συνέταξεν κύριος τῷ Μωυσῇ

42 ἀπὸ τοῦ ἡμισεύματος τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ οὓς διεῖλεν Μωυσῆς ἀπὸ τῶν ἀνδρῶν τῶν πολεμιστῶν

43 καὶ ἐγένετο τὸ ἡμίσευμα τὸ τῆς συναγωγῆς ἀπὸ τῶν προβάτων τριακόσιαι χιλιάδες καὶ τριάκοντα χιλιάδες καὶ ἑπτακισχίλια καὶ πεντακόσια

44 καὶ βόες ἓξ καὶ τριάκοντα χιλιάδες

45 ὄνοι τριάκοντα χιλιάδες καὶ πεντακόσιοι

46 καὶ ψυχαὶ ἀνθρώπων ἓξ καὶ δέκα χιλιάδες

47 καὶ ἔλαβεν Μωυσῆς ἀπὸ τοῦ ἡμισεύματος τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ τὸ ἓν ἀπὸ τῶν πεντήκοντα ἀπὸ τῶν ἀνθρώπων καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν κτηνῶν καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτὰ τοῖς Λευίταις τοῖς φυλάσσουσιν τὰς φυλακὰς τῆς σκηνῆς κυρίου ὃν τρόπον συνέταξεν κύριος τῷ Μωυσῇ

48 καὶ προσῆλθον πρὸς Μωυσῆν πάντες οἱ καθεσταμένοι εἰς τὰς χιλιαρχίας τῆς δυνάμεως χιλίαρχοι καὶ ἑκατόνταρχοι

49 καὶ εἶπαν πρὸς Μωυσῆν οἱ παῖδές σου εἰλήφασιν τὸ κεφάλαιον τῶν ἀνδρῶν τῶν πολεμιστῶν τῶν παρ᾽ ἡμῶν καὶ οὐ διαπεφώνηκεν ἀπ᾽ αὐτῶν οὐδὲ εἷς

50 καὶ προσενηνόχαμεν τὸ δῶρον κυρίῳ ἀνὴρ ὃ εὗρεν σκεῦος χρυσοῦν χλιδῶνα καὶ ψέλιον καὶ δακτύλιον καὶ περιδέξιον καὶ ἐμπλόκιον ἐξιλάσασθαι περὶ ἡμῶν ἔναντι κυρίου

51 καὶ ἔλαβεν Μωυσῆς καὶ Ελεαζαρ ὁ ἱερεὺς τὸ χρυσίον παρ᾽ αὐτῶν πᾶν σκεῦος εἰργασμένον

52 καὶ ἐγένετο πᾶν τὸ χρυσίον τὸ ἀφαίρεμα ὃ ἀφεῖλον κυρίῳ ἓξ καὶ δέκα χιλιάδες καὶ ἑπτακόσιοι καὶ πεντήκοντα σίκλοι παρὰ τῶν χιλιάρχων καὶ παρὰ τῶν ἑκατοντάρχων

53 καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες οἱ πολεμισταὶ ἐπρονόμευσαν ἕκαστος ἑαυτῷ

54 καὶ ἔλαβεν Μωυσῆς καὶ Ελεαζαρ ὁ ἱερεὺς τὸ χρυσίον παρὰ τῶν χιλιάρχων καὶ παρὰ τῶν ἑκατοντάρχων καὶ εἰσήνεγκεν αὐτὰ εἰς τὴν σκηνὴν τοῦ μαρτυρίου μνημόσυνον τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ ἔναντι κυρίου

‎2 ‏נְקֹ֗ם נִקְמַת֙ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל מֵאֵ֖ת הַמִּדְיָנִ֑ים אַחַ֖ר תֵּאָסֵ֥ף אֶל־עַמֶּֽיךָ׃

‎3 ‏וַיְדַבֵּ֤ר מֹשֶׁה֙ אֶל־הָעָ֣ם לֵאמֹ֔ר הֵחָלְצ֧וּ מֵאִתְּכֶ֛ם אֲנָשִׁ֖ים לַצָּבָ֑א וְיִהְיוּ֙ עַל־מִדְיָ֔ן לָתֵ֥ת נִקְמַת־יְהוָ֖ה בְּמִדְיָֽן׃

‎4 ‏אֶ֚לֶף לַמַּטֶּ֔ה אֶ֖לֶף לַמַּטֶּ֑ה לְכֹל֙ מַטּ֣וֹת יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל תִּשְׁלְח֖וּ לַצָּבָֽא׃

‎5 ‏וַיִּמָּֽסְרוּ֙ מֵאַלְפֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֶ֖לֶף לַמַּטֶּ֑ה שְׁנֵים־עָשָׂ֥ר אֶ֖לֶף חֲלוּצֵ֥י צָבָֽא׃

‎6 ‏וַיִּשְׁלַ֨ח אֹתָ֥ם מֹשֶׁ֛ה אֶ֥לֶף לַמַּטֶּ֖ה לַצָּבָ֑א אֹ֠תָם וְאֶת־פִּ֨ינְחָ֜ס בֶּן־אֶלְעָזָ֤ר הַכֹּהֵן֙ לַצָּבָ֔א וּכְלֵ֥י הַקֹּ֛דֶשׁ וַחֲצֹצְר֥וֹת הַתְּרוּעָ֖ה בְּיָדֽוֹ׃

‎7 ‏וַֽיִּצְבְּאוּ֙ עַל־מִדְיָ֔ן כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר צִוָּ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה אֶת־מֹשֶׁ֑ה וַיַּֽהַרְג֖וּ כָּל־זָכָֽר׃

‎8 ‏וְאֶת־מַלְכֵ֨י מִדְיָ֜ן הָרְג֣וּ עַל־חַלְלֵיהֶ֗ם אֶת־אֱוִ֤י וְאֶת־רֶ֙קֶם֙ וְאֶת־צ֤וּר וְאֶת־חוּר֙ וְאֶת־רֶ֔בַע חֲמֵ֖שֶׁת מַלְכֵ֣י מִדְיָ֑ן וְאֵת֙ בִּלְעָ֣ם בֶּן־בְּע֔וֹר הָרְג֖וּ בֶּחָֽרֶב׃

‎9 ‏וַיִּשְׁבּ֧וּ בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל אֶת־נְשֵׁ֥י מִדְיָ֖ן וְאֶת־טַפָּ֑ם וְאֵ֨ת כָּל־בְּהֶמְתָּ֧ם וְאֶת־כָּל־מִקְנֵהֶ֛ם וְאֶת־כָּל־חֵילָ֖ם בָּזָֽזוּ׃

‎10 ‏וְאֵ֤ת כָּל־עָרֵיהֶם֙ בְּמ֣וֹשְׁבֹתָ֔ם וְאֵ֖ת כָּל־טִֽירֹתָ֑ם שָׂרְפ֖וּ בָּאֵֽשׁ׃

‎11 ‏וַיִּקְחוּ֙ אֶת־כָּל־הַשָּׁלָ֔ל וְאֵ֖ת כָּל־הַמַּלְק֑וֹחַ בָּאָדָ֖ם וּבַבְּהֵמָֽה׃

‎12 ‏וַיָּבִ֡אוּ אֶל־מֹשֶׁה֩ וְאֶל־אֶלְעָזָ֨ר הַכֹּהֵ֜ן וְאֶל־עֲדַ֣ת בְּנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל אֶת־הַשְּׁבִ֧י וְאֶת־הַמַּלְק֛וֹחַ וְאֶת־הַשָּׁלָ֖ל אֶל־הַֽמַּחֲנֶ֑ה אֶל־עַֽרְבֹ֣ת מוֹאָ֔ב אֲשֶׁ֖ר עַל־יַרְדֵּ֥ן יְרֵחֽוֹ׃ ס

‎13 ‏וַיֵּ֨צְא֜וּ מֹשֶׁ֨ה וְאֶלְעָזָ֧ר הַכֹּהֵ֛ן וְכָל־נְשִׂיאֵ֥י הָעֵדָ֖ה לִקְרָאתָ֑ם אֶל־מִח֖וּץ לַֽמַּחֲנֶֽה׃

‎14 ‏וַיִּקְצֹ֣ף מֹשֶׁ֔ה עַ֖ל פְּקוּדֵ֣י הֶחָ֑יִל שָׂרֵ֤י הָאֲלָפִים֙ וְשָׂרֵ֣י הַמֵּא֔וֹת הַבָּאִ֖ים מִצְּבָ֥א הַמִּלְחָמָֽה׃

‎15 ‏וַיֹּ֥אמֶר אֲלֵיהֶ֖ם מֹשֶׁ֑ה הַֽחִיִּיתֶ֖ם כָּל־נְקֵבָֽה׃

‎16 ‏הֵ֣ן הֵ֜נָּה הָי֨וּ לִבְנֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ בִּדְבַ֣ר בִּלְעָ֔ם לִמְסָר־מַ֥עַל בַּיהוָ֖ה עַל־דְּבַר־פְּע֑וֹר וַתְּהִ֥י הַמַּגֵּפָ֖ה בַּעֲדַ֥ת יְהוָֽה׃

‎17 ‏וְעַתָּ֕ה הִרְג֥וּ כָל־זָכָ֖ר בַּטָּ֑ף וְכָל־אִשָּׁ֗ה יֹדַ֥עַת אִ֛ישׁ לְמִשְׁכַּ֥ב זָכָ֖ר הֲרֹֽגוּ׃

‎18 ‏וְכֹל֙ הַטַּ֣ף בַּנָּשִׁ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹא־יָדְע֖וּ מִשְׁכַּ֣ב זָכָ֑ר הַחֲי֖וּ לָכֶֽם׃

‎19 ‏וְאַתֶּ֗ם חֲנ֛וּ מִח֥וּץ לַֽמַּחֲנֶ֖ה שִׁבְעַ֣ת יָמִ֑ים כֹּל֩ הֹרֵ֨ג נֶ֜פֶשׁ וְכֹ֣ל׀ נֹגֵ֣עַ בֶּֽחָלָ֗ל תִּֽתְחַטְּא֞וּ בַּיּ֤וֹם הַשְּׁלִישִׁי֙ וּבַיּ֣וֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִ֔י אַתֶּ֖ם וּשְׁבִיכֶֽם׃

‎20 ‏וְכָל־בֶּ֧גֶד וְכָל־כְּלִי־ע֛וֹר וְכָל־מַעֲשֵׂ֥ה עִזִּ֖ים וְכָל־כְּלִי־עֵ֑ץ תִּתְחַטָּֽאוּ׃ ס

‎21 ‏וַיֹּ֨אמֶר אֶלְעָזָ֤ר הַכֹּהֵן֙ אֶל־אַנְשֵׁ֣י הַצָּבָ֔א הַבָּאִ֖ים לַמִּלְחָמָ֑ה זֹ֚את חֻקַּ֣ת הַתּוֹרָ֔ה אֲשֶׁר־צִוָּ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה אֶת־מֹשֶֽׁה׃

‎22 ‏אַ֥ךְ אֶת־הַזָּהָ֖ב וְאֶת־הַכָּ֑סֶף אֶֽת־הַנְּחֹ֙שֶׁת֙ אֶת־הַבַּרְזֶ֔ל אֶֽת־הַבְּדִ֖יל וְאֶת־הָעֹפָֽרֶת׃

‎23 ‏כָּל־דָּבָ֞ר אֲשֶׁר־יָבֹ֣א בָאֵ֗שׁ תַּעֲבִ֤ירוּ בָאֵשׁ֙ וְטָהֵ֔ר אַ֕ךְ בְּמֵ֥י נִדָּ֖ה יִתְחַטָּ֑א וְכֹ֨ל אֲשֶׁ֧ר לֹֽא־יָבֹ֛א בָּאֵ֖שׁ תַּעֲבִ֥ירוּ בַמָּֽיִם׃

‎24 ‏וְכִבַּסְתֶּ֧ם בִּגְדֵיכֶ֛ם בַּיּ֥וֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִ֖י וּטְהַרְתֶּ֑ם וְאַחַ֖ר תָּבֹ֥אוּ אֶל־הַֽמַּחֲנֶֽה׃ פ

‎25 ‏וַיֹּ֥אמֶר יְהוָ֖ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר׃

‎26 ‏שָׂ֗א אֵ֣ת רֹ֤אשׁ מַלְק֙וֹחַ֙ הַשְּׁבִ֔י בָּאָדָ֖ם וּבַבְּהֵמָ֑ה אַתָּה֙ וְאֶלְעָזָ֣ר הַכֹּהֵ֔ן וְרָאשֵׁ֖י אֲב֥וֹת הָעֵדָֽה׃

‎27 ‏וְחָצִ֙יתָ֙ אֶת־הַמַּלְק֔וֹחַ בֵּ֚ין תֹּפְשֵׂ֣י הַמִּלְחָמָ֔ה הַיֹּצְאִ֖ים לַצָּבָ֑א וּבֵ֖ין כָּל־הָעֵדָֽה׃

‎28 ‏וַהֲרֵמֹתָ֨ מֶ֜כֶס לַֽיהוָ֗ה מֵאֵ֞ת אַנְשֵׁ֤י הַמִּלְחָמָה֙ הַיֹּצְאִ֣ים לַצָּבָ֔א אֶחָ֣ד נֶ֔פֶשׁ מֵחֲמֵ֖שׁ הַמֵּא֑וֹת מִן־הָאָדָם֙ וּמִן־הַבָּקָ֔ר וּמִן־הַחֲמֹרִ֖ים וּמִן־הַצֹּֽאן׃

‎29 ‏מִמַּֽחֲצִיתָ֖ם תִּקָּ֑חוּ וְנָתַתָּ֛ה לְאֶלְעָזָ֥ר הַכֹּהֵ֖ן תְּרוּמַ֥ת יְהוָֽה׃

‎30 ‏וּמִמַּחֲצִ֨ת בְּנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל תִּקַּ֣ח׀ אֶחָ֣ד׀ אָחֻ֣ז מִן־הַחֲמִשִּׁ֗ים מִן־הָאָדָ֧ם מִן־הַבָּקָ֛ר מִן־הַחֲמֹרִ֥ים וּמִן־הַצֹּ֖אן מִכָּל־הַבְּהֵמָ֑ה וְנָתַתָּ֤ה אֹתָם֙ לַלְוִיִּ֔ם שֹׁמְרֵ֕י מִשְׁמֶ֖רֶת מִשְׁכַּ֥ן יְהוָֽה׃

‎31 ‏וַיַּ֣עַשׂ מֹשֶׁ֔ה וְאֶלְעָזָ֖ר הַכֹּהֵ֑ן כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר צִוָּ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה אֶת־מֹשֶֽׁה׃

‎32 ‏וַיְהִי֙ הַמַּלְק֔וֹחַ יֶ֣תֶר הַבָּ֔ז אֲשֶׁ֥ר בָּזְז֖וּ עַ֣ם הַצָּבָ֑א צֹ֗אן שֵׁשׁ־מֵא֥וֹת אֶ֛לֶף וְשִׁבְעִ֥ים אֶ֖לֶף וַחֲמֵֽשֶׁת־אֲלָפִֽים׃³

‎33 ‏וּבָקָ֕ר שְׁנַ֥יִם וְשִׁבְעִ֖ים אָֽלֶף׃

‎34 ‏וַחֲמֹרִ֕ים אֶחָ֥ד וְשִׁשִּׁ֖ים אָֽלֶף׃

‎35 ‏וְנֶ֣פֶשׁ אָדָ֔ם מִן־הַ֨נָּשִׁ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹֽא־יָדְע֖וּ מִשְׁכַּ֣ב זָכָ֑ר כָּל־נֶ֕פֶשׁ שְׁנַ֥יִם וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֖ים אָֽלֶף׃

‎36 ‏וַתְּהִי֙ הַֽמֶּחֱצָ֔ה חֵ֕לֶק הַיֹּצְאִ֖ים בַּצָּבָ֑א מִסְפַּ֣ר הַצֹּ֗אן שְׁלֹשׁ־מֵא֥וֹת אֶ֙לֶף֙ וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֣ים אֶ֔לֶף וְשִׁבְעַ֥ת אֲלָפִ֖ים וַחֲמֵ֥שׁ מֵאֽוֹת׃

‎37 ‏וַיְהִ֛י הַמֶּ֥כֶס לַֽיהוָ֖ה מִן־הַצֹּ֑אן שֵׁ֥שׁ מֵא֖וֹת חָמֵ֥שׁ וְשִׁבְעִֽים׃

‎38 ‏וְהַ֨בָּקָ֔ר שִׁשָּׁ֥ה וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֖ים אָ֑לֶף וּמִכְסָ֥ם לַיהוָ֖ה שְׁנַ֥יִם וְשִׁבְעִֽים׃

‎39 ‏וַחֲמֹרִ֕ים שְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים אֶ֖לֶף וַחֲמֵ֣שׁ מֵא֑וֹת וּמִכְסָ֥ם לַֽיהוָ֖ה אֶחָ֥ד וְשִׁשִּֽׁים׃

‎40 ‏וְנֶ֣פֶשׁ אָדָ֔ם שִׁשָּׁ֥ה עָשָׂ֖ר אָ֑לֶף וּמִכְסָם֙ לַֽיהוָ֔ה שְׁנַ֥יִם וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֖ים נָֽפֶשׁ׃

‎41 ‏וַיִּתֵּ֣ן מֹשֶׁ֗ה אֶת־מֶ֙כֶס֙ תְּרוּמַ֣ת יְהוָ֔ה לְאֶלְעָזָ֖ר הַכֹּהֵ֑ן כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר צִוָּ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה אֶת־מֹשֶֽׁה׃

‎42 ‏וּמִֽמַּחֲצִ֖ית בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל אֲשֶׁר֙ חָצָ֣ה מֹשֶׁ֔ה מִן־הָאֲנָשִׁ֖ים הַצֹּבְאִֽים׃

‎43 ‏וַתְּהִ֛י מֶחֱצַ֥ת הָעֵדָ֖ה מִן־הַצֹּ֑אן שְׁלֹשׁ־מֵא֥וֹת אֶ֙לֶף֙ וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֣ים אֶ֔לֶף שִׁבְעַ֥ת אֲלָפִ֖ים וַחֲמֵ֥שׁ מֵאֽוֹת׃

‎44 ‏וּבָקָ֕ר שִׁשָּׁ֥ה וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֖ים אָֽלֶף׃

‎45 ‏וַחֲמֹרִ֕ים שְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים אֶ֖לֶף וַחֲמֵ֥שׁ מֵאֽוֹת׃

‎46 ‏וְנֶ֣פֶשׁ אָדָ֔ם שִׁשָּׁ֥ה עָשָׂ֖ר אָֽלֶף׃

‎47 ‏וַיִּקַּ֨ח מֹשֶׁ֜ה מִמַּחֲצִ֣ת בְּנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל אֶת־הָֽאָחֻז֙ אֶחָ֣ד מִן־הַחֲמִשִּׁ֔ים מִן־הָאָדָ֖ם וּמִן־הַבְּהֵמָ֑ה וַיִּתֵּ֨ן אֹתָ֜ם לַלְוִיִּ֗ם שֹֽׁמְרֵי֙ מִשְׁמֶ֙רֶת֙ מִשְׁכַּ֣ן יְהוָ֔ה כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר צִוָּ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה אֶת־מֹשֶֽׁה׃

‎48 ‏וַֽיִּקְרְבוּ֙ אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֔ה הַפְּקֻדִ֕ים אֲשֶׁ֖ר לְאַלְפֵ֣י הַצָּבָ֑א שָׂרֵ֥י הָאֲלָפִ֖ים וְשָׂרֵ֥י הַמֵּאֽוֹת׃

‎49 ‏וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙ אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֔ה עֲבָדֶ֣יךָ נָֽשְׂא֗וּ אֶת־רֹ֛אשׁ אַנְשֵׁ֥י הַמִּלְחָמָ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר בְּיָדֵ֑נוּ וְלֹא־נִפְקַ֥ד מִמֶּ֖נּוּ אִֽישׁ׃

‎50 ‏וַנַּקְרֵ֞ב אֶת־קָרְבַּ֣ן יְהוָ֗ה אִישׁ֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר מָצָ֤א כְלִֽי־זָהָב֙ אֶצְעָדָ֣ה וְצָמִ֔יד טַבַּ֖עַת עָגִ֣יל וְכוּמָ֑ז לְכַפֵּ֥ר עַל־נַפְשֹׁתֵ֖ינוּ לִפְנֵ֥י יְהוָֽה׃

‎51 ‏וַיִּקַּ֨ח מֹשֶׁ֜ה וְאֶלְעָזָ֧ר הַכֹּהֵ֛ן אֶת־הַזָּהָ֖ב מֵֽאִתָּ֑ם כֹּ֖ל כְּלִ֥י מַעֲשֶֽׂה׃

‎52 ‏וַיְהִ֣י׀ כָּל־זְהַ֣ב הַתְּרוּמָ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֤ר הֵרִ֙ימוּ֙ לַֽיהוָ֔ה שִׁשָּׁ֨ה עָשָׂ֥ר אֶ֛לֶף שְׁבַע־מֵא֥וֹת וַחֲמִשִּׁ֖ים שָׁ֑קֶל מֵאֵת֙ שָׂרֵ֣י הָֽאֲלָפִ֔ים וּמֵאֵ֖ת שָׂרֵ֥י הַמֵּאֽוֹת׃

‎53 ‏אַנְשֵׁי֙ הַצָּבָ֔א בָּזְז֖וּ אִ֥ישׁ לֽוֹ׃

‎54 ‏וַיִּקַּ֨ח מֹשֶׁ֜ה וְאֶלְעָזָ֤ר הַכֹּהֵן֙ אֶת־הַזָּהָ֔ב מֵאֵ֛ת שָׂרֵ֥י הָאֲלָפִ֖ים וְהַמֵּא֑וֹת וַיָּבִ֤אוּ אֹתוֹ֙ אֶל־אֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֔ד זִכָּר֥וֹן לִבְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לִפְנֵ֥י יְהוָֽה׃ פ

Vul

1 Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen, dicens:

2 Ulciscere prius filios Israël de Madianitis, et sic colligeris ad populum tuum.

3 Statimque Moyses: Armate, inquit, ex vobis viros ad pugnam, qui possint ultionem Domini expetere de Madianitis.

4 Mille viri de singulis tribubus eligantur ex Israël qui mittantur ad bellum.

5 Dederuntque millenos de singulis tribubus, id est, duodecim millia expeditorum ad pugnam:

6 quos misit Moyses cum Phinees filio Eleazari sacerdotis, vasa quoque sancta, et tubas ad clangendum tradidit ei.

7 Cumque pugnassent contra Madianitas atque vicissent, omnes mares occiderunt,

8 et reges eorum, Evi, et Recem, et Sur, et Hur, et Rebe, quinque principes gentis: Balaam quoque filium Beor interfecerunt gladio.

9 Ceperuntque mulieres eorum, et parvulos, omniaque pecora, et cunctam supellectilem: quidquid habere potuerant depopulati sunt:

10 tam urbes quam viculos et castella flamma consumpsit.

11 Et tulerunt prædam, et universa quæ ceperant tam ex hominibus quam ex jumentis,

12 et adduxerunt ad Moysen, et Eleazarum sacerdotem, et ad omnem multitudinem filiorum Israël: reliqua autem utensilia portaverunt ad castra in campestribus Moab juxta Jordanem contra Jericho.

13 Egressi sunt autem Moyses et Eleazar sacerdos, et omnes principes synagogæ, in occursum eorum extra castra.

14 Iratusque Moyses principibus exercitus, tribunis, et centurionibus qui venerant de bello,

15 ait: Cur feminas reservastis?

16 nonne istæ sunt, quæ deceperunt filios Israël ad suggestionem Balaam, et prævaricari vos fecerunt in Domino super peccato Phogor, unde et percussus est populus?

17 ergo cunctos interficite quidquid est generis masculinis, etiam in parvulis: et mulieres, quæ noverunt viros in coitu, jugulate:

18 puellas autem et omnes feminas virgines reservate vobis:

19 et manete extra castra septem diebus. Qui occiderit hominem, vel occisum tetigerit, lustrabitur die tertio et septimo.

20 Et de omni præda, sive vestimentum fuerit, sive vas, et aliquid in utensilia præparatum, de caprarum pellibus, et pilis, et ligno, expiabitur.

21 Eleazar quoque sacerdos ad viros exercitus, qui pugnaverunt, sic locutus est: Hoc est præceptum legis, quod mandavit Dominus Moysi:

22 aurum, et argentum, et æs, et ferrum, et plumbum, et stannum,

23 et omne, quod potest transire per flammas, igne purgabitur: quidquid autem ignem non potest sustinere, aqua expiationis sanctificabitur:

24 et lavabitis vestimenta vestra die septimo, et purificati postea castra intrabitis.

25 Dixit quoque Dominus ad Moysen:

26 Tollite summam eorum quæ capta sunt, ab homine usque ad pecus, tu et Eleazar sacerdos et principes vulgi:

27 dividesque ex æquo prædam inter eos qui pugnaverunt egressique sunt ad bellum, et inter omnem reliquam multitudinem.

28 Et separabis partem Domino ab his qui pugnaverunt et fuerunt in bello, unam animam de quingentis, tam ex hominibus quam ex bobus et asinis et ovibus,

29 et dabis eam Eleazaro sacerdoti, quia primitiæ Domini sunt.

30 Ex media quoque parte filiorum Israël accipies quinquagesimum caput hominum, et boum, et asinorum, et ovium, cunctorum animantium, et dabis ea Levitis, qui excubant in custodiis tabernaculi Domini.

31 Feceruntque Moyses et Eleazar sicut præceperat Dominus.

32 Fuit autem præda, quam exercitus ceperat, ovium sexcenta septuaginta quinque millia,

33 boum septuaginta duo millia,

34 asinorum sexaginta millia et mille:

35 animæ hominum sexus feminei, quæ non cognoverant viros, triginta duo millia.

36 Dataque est media pars his qui in prælio fuerant, ovium trecenta triginta septem millia quingentæ:

37 e quibus in partem Domini supputatæ sunt oves sexcentæ septuaginta quinque:

38 et de bobus triginta sex millibus, boves septuaginta et duo:

39 de asinis triginta millibus quingentis, asini sexaginta unus:

40 de animabus hominum sedecim millibus, cesserunt in partem Domini triginta duæ animæ.

41 Tradiditque Moyses numerum primitiarum Domini Eleazaro sacerdoti, sicut fuerat ei imperatum,

42 ex media parte filiorum Israël, quam separaverat his qui in prælio fuerant.

43 De media vero parte, quæ contigerat reliquæ multitudini, id est, de ovibus trecentis triginta septem millibus quingentis,

44 et de bobus triginta sex millibus,

45 et de asinis triginta millibus quingentis,

46 et de hominibus sedecim millibus,

47 tulit Moyses quinquagesimum caput, et dedit Levitis, qui excubabant in tabernaculo Domini, sicut præceperat Dominus.

48 Cumque accessissent principes exercitus ad Moysen, et tribuni, centurionesque, dixerunt:

49 Nos servi tui recensuimus numerum pugnatorum, quos habuimus sub manu nostra: et ne unus quidem defuit.

50 Ob hanc causam offerimus in donariis Domini singuli quod in præda auri potuimus invenire, periscelides et armillas, annulos et dextralia, ac murænulas, ut depreceris pro nobis Dominum.

51 Susceperuntque Moyses et Eleazar sacerdos omne aurum in diversis speciebus,

52 pondo sedecim millia septingentos quinquaginta siclos, a tribunis et centurionibus.

53 Unusquisque enim quod in præda rapuerat, suum erat.

54 Et susceptum intulerunt in tabernaculum testimonii, in monimentum filiorum Israël coram Domino.
