1 πολυμερῶς καὶ πολυτρόπως πάλαι ὁ θεὸς λαλήσας τοῖς πατράσιν ἐν τοῖς προφήταις

2 ἐπ᾽ ἐσχάτου τῶν ἡμερῶν τούτων ἐλάλησεν ἡμῖν ἐν υἱῶ, ὃν ἔθηκεν κληρονόμον πάντων, δι᾽ οὖ καὶ ἐποίησεν τοὺς αἰῶνας·

3 ὃς ὢν ἀπαύγασμα τῆς δόξης καὶ χαρακτὴρ τῆς ὑποστάσεως αὐτοῦ, φέρων τε τὰ πάντα τῶ ῥήματι τῆς δυνάμεως αὐτοῦ, καθαρισμὸν τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν ποιησάμενος ἐκάθισεν ἐν δεξιᾷ τῆς μεγαλωσύνης ἐν ὑψηλοῖς,

4 τοσούτῳ κρείττων γενόμενος τῶν ἀγγέλων ὅσῳ διαφορώτερον παρ᾽ αὐτοὺς κεκληρονόμηκεν ὄνομα.

5 τίνι γὰρ εἶπέν ποτε τῶν ἀγγέλων, υἱός μου εἶ σύ, ἐγὼ σήμερον γεγέννηκά σε; καὶ πάλιν, ἐγὼ ἔσομαι αὐτῶ εἰς πατέρα, καὶ αὐτὸς ἔσται μοι εἰς υἱόν;

6 ὅταν δὲ πάλιν εἰσαγάγῃ τὸν πρωτότοκον εἰς τὴν οἰκουμένην, λέγει, καὶ προσκυνησάτωσαν αὐτῶ πάντες ἄγγελοι θεοῦ.

7 καὶ πρὸς μὲν τοὺς ἀγγέλους λέγει, ὁ ποιῶν τοὺς ἀγγέλους αὐτοῦ πνεύματα, καὶ τοὺς λειτουργοὺς αὐτοῦ πυρὸς φλόγα·

8 πρὸς δὲ τὸν υἱόν, ὁ θρόνος σου, ὁ θεός, εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα τοῦ αἰῶνος, καὶ ἡ ῥάβδος τῆς εὐθύτητος ῥάβδος τῆς βασιλείας σου.

9 ἠγάπησας δικαιοσύνην καὶ ἐμίσησας ἀνομίαν· διὰ τοῦτο ἔχρισέν σε ὁ θεός, ὁ θεός σου, ἔλαιον ἀγαλλιάσεως παρὰ τοὺς μετόχους σου·

10 καί, σὺ κατ᾽ ἀρχάς, κύριε, τὴν γῆν ἐθεμελίωσας, καὶ ἔργα τῶν χειρῶν σού εἰσιν οἱ οὐρανοί·

11 αὐτοὶ ἀπολοῦνται, σὺ δὲ διαμένεις· καὶ πάντες ὡς ἱμάτιον παλαιωθήσονται,

12 καὶ ὡσεὶ περιβόλαιον ἑλίξεις αὐτούς, ὡς ἱμάτιον καὶ ἀλλαγήσονται· σὺ δὲ ὁ αὐτὸς εἶ καὶ τὰ ἔτη σου οὐκ ἐκλείψουσιν.

13 πρὸς τίνα δὲ τῶν ἀγγέλων εἴρηκέν ποτε, κάθου ἐκ δεξιῶν μου ἕως ἂν θῶ τοὺς ἐχθρούς σου ὑποπόδιον τῶν ποδῶν σου;

14 οὐχὶ πάντες εἰσὶν λειτουργικὰ πνεύματα εἰς διακονίαν ἀποστελλόμενα διὰ τοὺς μέλλοντας κληρονομεῖν σωτηρίαν;

1  God²³¹⁶ who at sundry times⁴¹⁸¹ and²⁵³² in divers manners⁴¹⁸⁷ spake²⁹⁸⁰ in time past³⁸¹⁹ unto the³⁵⁸⁸ fathers³⁹⁶² by¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ prophets,⁴³⁹⁶

2  Hath in¹⁹⁰⁹ these⁵¹³⁰ last²⁰⁷⁸ days²²⁵⁰ spoken²⁹⁸⁰ unto us²²⁵⁴ by¹⁷²² his Son,⁵²⁰⁷ whom³⁷³⁹ he hath appointed⁵⁰⁸⁷ heir²⁸¹⁸ of all things,³⁹⁵⁶ by¹²²³ whom³⁷³⁹ also²⁵³² he made⁴¹⁶⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ worlds;¹⁶⁵

3  Who³⁷³⁹ being⁵⁶⁰⁷ the brightness⁵⁴¹ of his glory,¹³⁹¹ and²⁵³² the express image⁵⁴⁸¹ of his⁸⁴⁸ person,⁵²⁸⁷ and⁵⁰³⁷ upholding⁵³⁴² all things³⁹⁵⁶ by the³⁵⁸⁸ word⁴⁴⁸⁷ of his⁸⁴⁶ power,¹⁴¹¹ when he had by¹²²³ himself¹⁴³⁸ purged^{4160 2512} our²²⁵⁷ sins,²⁶⁶ sat down²⁵²³ on¹⁷²² the right hand¹¹⁸⁸ of the³⁵⁸⁸ Majesty³¹⁷² on¹⁷²² high;⁵³⁰⁸

4  Being made¹⁰⁹⁶ so much⁵¹¹⁸ better²⁹⁰⁹ than the³⁵⁸⁸ angels,³² as³⁷⁴⁵ he hath by inheritance obtained²⁸¹⁶ a more excellent¹³¹³ name³⁶⁸⁶ than³⁸⁴⁴ they.⁸⁴⁶

5  For¹⁰⁶³ unto which⁵¹⁰¹ of the³⁵⁸⁸ angels³² said²⁰³⁶ he at any time,⁴²¹⁸ Thou⁴⁷⁷¹ art¹⁴⁸⁸ my³⁴⁵⁰ son,⁵²⁰⁷ this day⁴⁵⁹⁴ have I¹⁴⁷³ begotten¹⁰⁸⁰ thee?⁴⁵⁷¹ And²⁵³² again,³⁸²⁵ I¹⁴⁷³ will be²⁰⁷¹ to him⁸⁴⁶ a¹⁵¹⁹ Father,³⁹⁶² and²⁵³² he⁸⁴⁶ shall be²⁰⁷¹ to me³⁴²⁷ a¹⁵¹⁹ Son?⁵²⁰⁷

6  And¹¹⁶¹ again,³⁸²⁵ when³⁷⁵² he bringeth in¹⁵²¹ the³⁵⁸⁸ first begotten⁴⁴¹⁶ into¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ world,³⁶²⁵ he saith,³⁰⁰⁴ And²⁵³² let all³⁹⁵⁶ the angels³² of God²³¹⁶ worship⁴³⁵² him.⁸⁴⁶

7  And²⁵³² of the angels^{4314 3588 32} he saith,³⁰⁰⁴ Who maketh⁴¹⁶⁰ his⁸⁴⁸ angels³² spirits,⁴¹⁵¹ and²⁵³² his⁸⁴⁸ ministers³⁰¹¹ a flame⁵³⁹⁵ of fire.⁴⁴⁴²

8  But¹¹⁶¹ unto⁴³¹⁴ the³⁵⁸⁸ Son⁵²⁰⁷ he saith, Thy⁴⁶⁷⁵ throne,²³⁶² O God,²³¹⁶ is forever and ever:^{1519 165 165} a scepter⁴⁴⁶⁴ of righteousness²¹¹⁸ is the³⁵⁸⁸ scepter⁴⁴⁶⁴ of thy⁴⁶⁷⁵ kingdom.⁹³²

9  Thou hast loved²⁵ righteousness,¹³⁴³ and²⁵³² hated³⁴⁰⁴ iniquity;⁴⁵⁸ therefore^{1223 5124} God,²³¹⁶ even thy⁴⁶⁷⁵ God,²³¹⁶ hath anointed⁵⁵⁴⁸ thee⁴⁵⁷¹ with the oil¹⁶³⁷ of gladness²⁰ above³⁸⁴⁴ thy⁴⁶⁷⁵ fellows.³³⁵³

10  And,²⁵³² Thou,⁴⁷⁷¹ Lord,²⁹⁶² in²⁵⁹⁶ the beginning⁷⁴⁶ hast laid the foundation²³¹¹ of the³⁵⁸⁸ earth;¹⁰⁹³ and²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ heavens³⁷⁷² are¹⁵²⁶ the works²⁰⁴¹ of thine⁴⁶⁷⁵ hands:⁵⁴⁹⁵

11  They⁸⁴⁶ shall perish;⁶²² but¹¹⁶¹ thou⁴⁷⁷¹ remainest;¹²⁶⁵ and²⁵³² they all³⁹⁵⁶ shall wax old³⁸²² as⁵⁶¹³ doth a garment;²⁴⁴⁰

12  And²⁵³² as⁵⁶¹⁶ a vesture⁴⁰¹⁸ shalt thou fold them up,^{1667 846} and²⁵³² they shall be changed:²³⁶ but¹¹⁶¹ thou⁴⁷⁷¹ art¹⁴⁸⁸ the³⁵⁸⁸ same,⁸⁴⁶ and²⁵³² thy⁴⁶⁷⁵ years²⁰⁹⁴ shall not³⁷⁵⁶ fail.¹⁵⁸⁷

13  But¹¹⁶¹ to⁴³¹⁴ which⁵¹⁰¹ of the³⁵⁸⁸ angels³² said²⁰⁴⁶ he at any time,⁴²¹⁸ Sit²⁵²¹ on¹⁵³⁷ my³⁴⁵⁰ right hand,¹¹⁸⁸ until^{2193 302} I make⁵⁰⁸⁷ thine⁴⁶⁷⁵ enemies²¹⁹⁰ thy footstool?^{5286 4675 4228}

14  Are¹⁵²⁶ they not³⁷⁸⁰ all³⁹⁵⁶ ministering³⁰¹⁰ spirits,⁴¹⁵¹ sent forth⁶⁴⁹ to minister^{1519 1248} for¹²²³ them who shall be³¹⁹⁵ heirs²⁸¹⁶ of salvation?⁴⁹⁹¹

2 novissime, diebus istis locutus est nobis in Filio, quem constituit hæredem universorum, per quem fecit et sæcula:

3 qui cum sit splendor gloriæ, et figura substantiæ ejus, portansque omnia verbo virtutis suæ, purgationem peccatorum faciens, sedet ad dexteram majestatis in excelsis:

4 tanto melior angelis effectus, quanto differentius præ illis nomen hæreditavit.

5 Cui enim dixit aliquando angelorum: Filius meus es tu, ego hodie genui te? Et rursum: Ego ero illi in patrem, et ipse erit mihi in filium?

6 Et cum iterum introducit primogenitum in orbem terræ, dicit: Et adorent eum omnes angeli Dei.

7 Et ad angelos quidem dicit: Qui facit angelos suos spiritus, et ministros suos flammam ignis.

8 Ad Filium autem: Thronus tuus Deus in sæculum sæculi: virga æquitatis, virga regni tui.

9 Dilexisti justitiam, et odisti iniquitatem: propterea unxit te Deus, Deus tuus, oleo exultationis præ participibus tuis.

10 Et: Tu in principio, Domine, terram fundasti: et opera manuum tuarum sunt cæli.

11 Ipsi peribunt, tu autem permanebis, et omnes ut vestimentum veterascent:

12 et velut amictum mutabis eos, et mutabuntur: tu autem idem ipse es, et anni tui non deficient.

13 Ad quem autem angelorum dixit aliquando: Sede a dextris meis, quoadusque ponam inimicos tuos scabellum pedum tuorum?

14 Nonne omnes sunt administratorii spiritus, in ministerium missi propter eos, qui hæreditatem capient salutis?
