1  Maschil⁴⁹⁰⁵ of Asaph.⁶²³ O God,⁴³⁰ why⁴¹⁰⁰ hast thou cast us off²¹⁸⁶ forever?⁵³³¹ why doth thine anger⁶³⁹ smoke⁶²²⁵ against the sheep⁶⁶²⁹ of thy pasture?⁴⁸³⁰

2  Remember²¹⁴² thy congregation,⁵⁷¹² which thou hast purchased⁷⁰⁶⁹ of old;⁶⁹²⁴ the rod⁷⁶²⁶ of thine inheritance,⁵¹⁵⁹ which thou hast redeemed;¹³⁵⁰ this²⁰⁸⁸ mount²⁰²² Zion,⁶⁷²⁶ wherein thou hast dwelt.⁷⁹³¹

3  Lift up⁷³¹¹ thy feet⁶⁴⁷¹ unto the perpetual⁵³³¹ desolations;⁴⁸⁷⁶ even all³⁶⁰⁵ that the enemy³⁴¹ hath done wickedly⁷⁴⁸⁹ in the sanctuary.⁶⁹⁴⁴

4  Thine enemies⁶⁸⁸⁷ roar⁷⁵⁸⁰ in the midst⁷¹³⁰ of thy congregations;⁴¹⁵⁰ they set up⁷⁷⁶⁰ their ensigns²²⁶ for signs.²²⁶

5  A man was famous³⁰⁴⁵ according as he had lifted up^{935 4605} axes⁷¹³⁴ upon the thick⁵⁴⁴² trees.⁶⁰⁸⁶

6  But now⁶²⁵⁸ they break down¹⁹⁸⁶ the carved work⁶⁶⁰³ thereof at once³¹⁶² with axes³⁷⁸¹ and hammers.³⁵⁹⁷

7  They have cast⁷⁹⁷¹ fire⁷⁸⁴ into thy sanctuary,⁴⁷²⁰ they have defiled²⁴⁹⁰ by casting down the dwelling place⁴⁹⁰⁸ of thy name⁸⁰³⁴ to the ground.⁷⁷⁶

8  They said⁵⁵⁹ in their hearts,³⁸²⁰ Let us destroy³²³⁸ them together:³¹⁶² they have burned up⁸³¹³ all³⁶⁰⁵ the synagogues⁴¹⁵⁰ of God⁴¹⁰ in the land.⁷⁷⁶

9  We see⁷²⁰⁰ not³⁸⁰⁸ our signs:²²⁶ there is no³⁶⁹ more⁵⁷⁵⁰ any prophet:⁵⁰³⁰ neither³⁸⁰⁸ is there among⁸⁵⁴ us any that knoweth³⁰⁴⁵ how long.^{5704 4100}

10  O God,⁴³⁰ how long^{5704 4970} shall the adversary⁶⁸⁶² reproach?²⁷⁷⁸ shall the enemy³⁴¹ blaspheme⁵⁰⁰⁶ thy name⁸⁰³⁴ forever?⁵³³¹

11  Why⁴¹⁰⁰ withdrawest⁷⁷²⁵ thou thy hand,³⁰²⁷ even thy right hand?³²²⁵ pluck³⁶¹⁵ it out of^{4480 7130} thy bosom.²⁴³⁶

12  For God⁴³⁰ is my King⁴⁴²⁸ of old,^{4480 6924} working⁶⁴⁶⁶ salvation³⁴⁴⁴ in the midst⁷¹³⁰ of the earth.⁷⁷⁶

13  Thou⁸⁵⁹ didst divide⁶⁵⁶⁵ the sea³²²⁰ by thy strength:⁵⁷⁹⁷ thou didst break⁷⁶⁶⁵ the heads⁷²¹⁸ of the dragons⁸⁵⁷⁷ in⁵⁹²¹ the waters.⁴³²⁵

14  Thou⁸⁵⁹ didst break⁷⁵³³ the heads⁷²¹⁸ of leviathan³⁸⁸² in pieces, and gavest⁵⁴¹⁴ him to be meat³⁹⁷⁸ to the people⁵⁹⁷¹ inhabiting the wilderness.⁶⁷²⁸

15  Thou⁸⁵⁹ didst cleave¹²³⁴ the fountain⁴⁵⁹⁹ and the flood:⁵¹⁵⁸ thou⁸⁵⁹ driedst up³⁰⁰¹ mighty³⁸⁶ rivers.⁵¹⁰⁴

16  The day³¹¹⁷ is thine, the night³⁹¹⁵ also⁶³⁷ is thine: thou⁸⁵⁹ hast prepared³⁵⁵⁹ the light³⁹⁷⁴ and the sun.⁸¹²¹

17  Thou⁸⁵⁹ hast set⁵³²⁴ all³⁶⁰⁵ the borders¹³⁶⁷ of the earth:⁷⁷⁶ thou⁸⁵⁹ hast made³³³⁵ summer⁷⁰¹⁹ and winter.²⁷⁷⁹

18  Remember²¹⁴² this,²⁰⁶³ that the enemy³⁴¹ hath reproached,²⁷⁷⁸ O LORD,³⁰⁶⁸ and that the foolish⁵⁰³⁶ people⁵⁹⁷¹ have blasphemed⁵⁰⁰⁶ thy name.⁸⁰³⁴

19  O deliver⁵⁴¹⁴ not⁴⁰⁸ the soul⁵³¹⁵ of thy turtledove⁸⁴⁴⁹ unto the multitude²⁴¹⁶ of the wicked: forget⁷⁹¹¹ not⁴⁰⁸ the congregation²⁴¹⁶ of thy poor⁶⁰⁴¹ forever.⁵³³¹

20  Have respect⁵⁰²⁷ unto the covenant:¹²⁸⁵ for³⁵⁸⁸ the dark places⁴²⁸⁵ of the earth⁷⁷⁶ are full⁴³⁹⁰ of the habitations⁴⁹⁹⁹ of cruelty.²⁵⁵⁵

21  O let not⁴⁰⁸ the oppressed¹⁷⁹⁰ return⁷⁷²⁵ ashamed:³⁶³⁷ let the poor⁶⁰⁴¹ and needy³⁴ praise¹⁹⁸⁴ thy name.⁸⁰³⁴

22  Arise,⁶⁹⁶⁵ O God,⁴³⁰ plead thine own cause:^{7378 7379} remember²¹⁴² how⁴⁴⁸⁰ the foolish man⁵⁰³⁶ reproacheth²⁷⁸¹ thee daily.^{3605 3117}

23  Forget⁷⁹¹¹ not⁴⁰⁸ the voice⁶⁹⁶³ of thine enemies:⁶⁸⁸⁷ the tumult⁷⁵⁸⁸ of those that rise up against⁶⁹⁶⁵ thee increaseth⁵⁹²⁷ continually.⁸⁵⁴⁸

et invocabimus nomen tuum;
narrabimus mirabilia tua.

3 Cum accepero tempus,
ego justitias judicabo.

4 Liquefacta est terra et omnes qui habitant in ea:
ego confirmavi columnas ejus.

5 Dixi iniquis: Nolite inique agere:
et delinquentibus: Nolite exaltare cornu:

6 nolite extollere in altum cornu vestrum;
nolite loqui adversus Deum iniquitatem.

7 Quia neque ab oriente, neque ab occidente,
neque a desertis montibus:

8 quoniam Deus judex est.
