Isaiah 61

KJV

1  The Spirit7307 of the Lord136 GOD3069 is upon5921 me; because3282 the LORD3068 hath anointed4886 me to preach good tidings1319 unto the meek;6035 he hath sent7971 me to bind up2280 the brokenhearted,7665 3820 to proclaim7121 liberty1865 to the captives,7617 and the opening of the prison6495 to them that are bound;631

2  To proclaim7121 the acceptable7522 year8141 of the LORD,3068 and the day3117 of vengeance5359 of our God;430 to comfort5162 all3605 that mourn;57

3  To appoint7760 unto them that mourn57 in Zion,6726 to give5414 unto them beauty6287 for8478 ashes,665 the oil8081 of joy8342 for8478 mourning,60 the garment4594 of praise8416 for8478 the spirit7307 of heaviness;3544 that they might be called7121 trees352 of righteousness,6664 the planting4302 of the LORD,3068 that he might be glorified.6286

4  And they shall build1129 the old5769 wastes,2723 they shall raise up6965 the former7223 desolations,8074 and they shall repair2318 the waste2721 cities,5892 the desolations8074 of many generations.1755 1755

5  And strangers2114 shall stand5975 and feed7462 your flocks,6629 and the sons1121 of the alien5236 shall be your plowmen406 and your vinedressers.3755

6  But ye859 shall be named7121 the Priests3548 of the LORD:3068 men shall call559 you the Ministers8334 of our God:430 ye shall eat398 the riches2428 of the Gentiles,1471 and in their glory3519 shall ye boast yourselves.3235

7  For8478 your shame1322 ye shall have double;4932 and for confusion3639 they shall rejoice7442 in their portion:2506 therefore3651 in their land776 they shall possess3423 the double:4932 everlasting5769 joy8057 shall be1961 unto them.

8  For3588 I589 the LORD3068 love157 judgment,4941 I hate8130 robbery1498 for burnt offering;5930 and I will direct5414 their work6468 in truth,571 and I will make3772 an everlasting5769 covenant1285 with them.

9  And their seed2233 shall be known3045 among the Gentiles,1471 and their offspring6631 among8432 the people:5971 all3605 that see7200 them shall acknowledge5234 them, that3588 they1992 are the seed2233 which the LORD3068 hath blessed.1288

10  I will greatly rejoice7797 7797 in the LORD,3068 my soul5315 shall be joyful1523 in my God;430 for3588 he hath clothed3847 me with the garments899 of salvation,3468 he hath covered3271 me with the robe4598 of righteousness,6666 as a bridegroom2860 decketh3547 himself with ornaments,6287 and as a bride3618 adorneth5710 herself with her jewels.3627

11  For3588 as the earth776 bringeth forth3318 her bud,6780 and as the garden1593 causeth the things that are sown2221 in it to spring forth;6779 so3651 the Lord136 GOD3069 will cause righteousness6666 and praise8416 to spring forth6779 before5048 all3605 the nations.1471

1 [Spiritus Domini super me,
eo quod unxerit Dominus me;
ad annuntiandum mansuetis misit me,
ut mederer contritis corde,
et prædicarem captivis indulgentiam,
et clausis apertionem;

2 ut prædicarem annum placabilem Domino,
et diem ultionis Deo nostro;
ut consolarer omnes lugentes,

3 ut ponerem lugentibus Sion,
et darem eis coronam pro cinere,
oleum gaudii pro luctu,
pallium laudis pro spiritu mœroris;
et vocabuntur in ea fortes justitiæ,
plantatio Domini ad glorificandum.

4 Et ædificabunt deserta a sæculo,
et ruinas antiquas erigent,
et instaurabunt civitates desertas,
dissipatas in generationem et generationem.

5 Et stabunt alieni, et pascent pecora vestra,
et filii peregrinorum agricolæ et vinitores vestri erunt.

6 Vos autem sacerdotes Domini vocabimini:
Ministri Dei nostri, dicetur vobis,
fortitudinem gentium comedetis,
et in gloria earum superbietis.

7 Pro confusione vestra duplici et rubore,
laudabunt partem suam;
propter hoc in terra sua duplicia possidebunt,
lætitia sempiterna erit eis.

8 Quia ego Dominus diligens judicium,
et odio habens rapinam in holocausto;
et dabo opus eorum in veritate,
et fœdus perpetuum feriam eis.

9 Et scient in gentibus semen eorum,
et germen eorum in medio populorum;
omnes qui viderint eos cognoscent illos,
quia isti sunt semen cui benedixit Dominus.

10 Gaudens gaudebo in Domino,
et exsultabit anima mea in Deo meo,
quia induit me vestimentis salutis,
et indumento justitiæ circumdedit me,
quasi sponsum decoratum corona,
et quasi sponsam ornatam monilibus suis.

11 Sicut enim terra profert germen suum,
et sicut hortus semen suum germinat,
sic Dominus Deus germinabit justitiam
et laudem coram universis gentibus.]
